Battling the blights: leaf it to science!

The International Symposium on Cereal Leaf Blights (ISCLB) is a biannual conference that brings together scientists, researchers, experts, and producers from around the globe to share cutting-edge knowledge and foster collaborations on foliar cereal diseases and their management. This includes diseases affecting the leaves of wheat, barley, oats, and other cereals. The ISCLB 2026 will provide an opportunity for researchers and stakeholders working on cereals to exchange ideas, collaborate, network, and engage in extensive debate and discussion across a range of topics. These include evolution and population biology, cultural disease management, fungicide resistance and epidemiology, pathogen functional genetics and genomics, host-pathogen interactions, host genetics and resistance breeding, secondary metabolism and physiology, and other specific topics.

The 2026 meeting in the heart of Alberta’s Rocky Mountains will also offer strong exposure for the Canadian and North American research and industry communities, given its location in Canada. Additionally, the Symposium will cover not only fungal diseases but also rising bacterial and viral issues affecting cereals. This event will feature plenary and diverse sessions in the format of presentations, poster displays, as well as panel discussions. The networking reception, banquet and optional field day will open  doors to developing long-lasting collaborations throughout the world.
